Edit in Datasheet View in Sharepoint without MS Office installed

Why you cannot view a list in Datasheet view on a Windows SharePoint Services Web site ? I know everybody knows the answers:

This behavior occurs if one or more if the following conditions are true:
•A datasheet component that is compatible with Windows SharePoint Services is not installed.
A Microsoft Office Professional edition is not installed on the computer. •The Web browser does not support ActiveX controls.
•Support for ActiveX controls is disabled.

Edit in datasheet gives you the way by which you can perform bulk updates and deletes. But the problem or you call it as necessity that Office package should be insatalled on your machine.

but what if-you dont have a office installed on your machine and you need to do some important work. Dont worry-Here is the solution:
You just have to install the AccessDatabaseEngine from Microsoft and it will give you the edit in datasheet mode.

You can download the database engine from the following location:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C06B8369-60DD-4B64-A44B-84B371EDE16D&displaylang=en

I hope the above mentioned information will be usefull to you as well as resolves the issue when requirement arises. Please let me know in case of any issues/queries/questions.
I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you
